Why Facebook Videos Won't Download (Groups, Friends-Only, Live)

Privacy settings decide what can be saved. Here's how to read them.

Check the audience icon

Next to the post's time there's a small icon. A globe means Public — that works. Two people (Friends) or a lock (Only me) means the video can't be fetched from outside Facebook.

Private groups

Videos in private groups are only visible to members, so they can't be downloaded here.

Live videos

Wait until the broadcast ends. Once Facebook finishes processing it, the replay can usually be downloaded.
